Raised by a single parent, Eric learned how to make what he believed were wise financial decisions with finite resources. As a young boy, he held many part-time jobs and learned how to budget for the things he wanted in life.

Both of Eric’s parents were teachers. In college, Eric discovered his own desire to teach and thought about teaching at a university.

Although he did not become a professor, Eric’s deep-seated desire to teach never left him. When he opened Puget Sound Financial Strategies, he decided to run the business as an avid teacher would, guiding people to make appropriate financial decisions.

“The wealth-building ideas and strategies I teach my clients are the same principles I practice in my own life,” Eric said. “I started out from scratch, financially, and have been able to build what I believe is a  successful life for my family through patience, discipline, common-sense investing and financial management.”

Eric and his wife, Amy, got married in 1994 and have three grown daughters, a pup and two cats. When he’s not enjoying the outdoors, camping, hiking or fishing, Eric loves to teach pre-retirement courses at local community colleges. He’s especially passionate about learning what would make you feel happy, confident and fulfilled in retirement.
